McCoy has taught Method Acting for Musicians at Berklee College of Music’s brand new campus at The Power Station in NYC, The Actors Voice and Acting is ReActing as a teaching artist at the award-winning Harwich Junior Theatre in Cape Cod,  Choir Director for Cape Cod TechniChoir from Cape Cod Tech High School, Method Acting at TVI Actors Studio in New York City, Voice for Dancers at Tides Dance Collaborative in Chatham, Massachusetts, as well as privately coaching students internationally in voice, acting and songwriting.

Having written six Billboard chart-topping songs, performed her own and other’s musicals internationally and off-Broadway, and studied with Marcia Haufrecht of the Actor’s Studio, as well as Katie Agresta of the Bel Canto vocal tradition, Dana is a confident and competent guide. She started out in Dance studying Ballet at North Carolina High School of the Arts, then Boston Conservatory for Musical Theater, and then on to Berklee College of Music for her degree in voice, composition and performance.

McCoy still enjoys a full performing schedule so she’s got a lot of practical and current experience to offer.  She particularly enjoys helping people shine far beyond their own expectations. Her students have ranged from people who’ve never performed before, to those who’ve gone on to receive scholarships, awards, and bright professional and even political careers.

For several years McCoy has proudly been a teaching artist at the Harwich Junior Theatre at Cape Cod Theatre Company She has developed a course there for young adults called the Actor’s Voice, helping teens find their voice and understand the acting of songs.

Cape Tech BannerMs. McCoy hopes after the pandemic to resume her position as director of the United Way and Harwich Junior theatre’s program bringing arts into vocation schools.  McCoy was Choir Director at Cape Cod Regional Technical High School, for this ground-breaking pilot program she designed from 2018 through the start of the pandemic in mid-March, 2020.
